The Cobalt is a good car. I’ve driven several as rentals during business trips, and among the base sedans I’ve rented and driven, I much prefer the Cobalt and its Saturn sister car over the Corolla, Hyundai and other offerings. It has a little cheap-appearing interior appointment, but at this price I challenge you to find anything that will ooh and ahh about. The power from the Ecotec 4 is adequate to get this car going, and then some, but it tends to be a little noisy on hard acceleration. Compared to like in its class, I’d say its one of the zippier cars out there. The suspension is simple and capable as well. Gas mileage is about mid-pack; better if you are gentle on the gas pedal.
I’ve seen low-mileage, good condition Cobalts going for between 10k and 14k, although I didn’t pick out the trim levels.
it is a really good car, it is very comfortable to ride in. Also I think it is better than the new civic in terms of ease of use. The engine is nice, its quick for getting 35+ mpg
